Mr. England 2022, David Allwood uses his platform to raise awareness about loneliness and mental illness for LGBTQ people. On David's journey to becoming the contest winner he faced many challenges and obstacles along the way, but his determination, passion, and commitment to his cause helped him overcome them.

David Allwood earned the title of Mr. Gay England 2022, through winning five out of seven categories.

David aims to use this title to combat loneliness in the LGBTQ+ community.

He launched a campaign called ‘Belong’ to try and bring the community
closer together. Queer people are more likely to face discrimination which can lead to them disengaging or hiding their true selves from others. The older LGBTQ+ generation can feel forgotten about in the mainstream queer media and trauma from growing up LGBTQ+ can take its toll and lead to them feeling negatively towards their community as a whole. All of these factors, and more, can lead to loneliness and poor mental health.

David is also director of queer collective HOMOPARODY, who raise money
for gay charities, perform at major pride events and recreate music videos and online content.
