What is Life Coaching

In practice, coaching is an empowering process where the coach asks empowering questions and provides a safe space, so people can discover their own creative solutions. In coaching we work on mining your values, discovering your life purpose, and naming your inner-allies -creating a solid foundation for a client to connect with and build from. We also challenge our clients (ex: How would it feel to make that decision by Friday?), and give homework for clients to work on and bring to our next session (ex: Come up with five qualities you are looking for in a partner and a list of non-negotiables.)

The whole idea is to get people to consider their situation and come to resolutions on their own. It’s all about getting ‘unstuck’. Scenarios where people may seek a life coach can include: coming out, coupling, uncoupling, starting a career, ending a career, choosing a new career / second career / side hustle, medical diagnosis, loss of a friend or family member. Remember, you don’t NEED coaching, but do you WANT coaching? Someone to hold you accountable, help you set goals, and quite simply, someone to help you change your life?
